2010 Ashes Series - Australia
Off to a great start today - was out buying a table for my tv but got back 10 minutes before the hatrick. A great spell of bowling there from Siddle. Aussies finished the day 0/25 which is good but we need a strong batting display tomorrow. Remember last time in Oz Harmison bowled that first ball wide that went more sideways than it did lengthways? Well that set the tone for the rest of the series and hopefully with Strauss winning the toss and then getting a duck will do likewise. Cmon Aussies

We didn't start to well thats for sure,am I then only one who asks why Pieterson is an automatic choice it cant be His form as he isn't really set the world on fire this summer,Thank God for Bell,he put on a good knock as did Cook, just hope the Ball will swing for Anderson as good as it did for Siddle,it's early yet and anything may and can happen before the final day on this first test

I fell asleep at my laptop then woke up after the first wicket of the hat-trick, thought "Prior will come in and knock a steady 50" then "Oh no" then "Oh no" again.

Hopefully i'm wrong but i don't think 260 is a bad score - around 300-320 was the benchmark for me. It's a long boundary ground so we won't see too many 4's. Alot of work to do and it could be England go into the second innings with a lead.... i must say i do like this not having to stay up all hours of the night thing - i guess that's your turn now ha ha. Carn straya...

Gutted, bit of a fightback but Hussey saves the day and then the rain. Need quick wickets tonight to make a fight of it.If not will be looking at the weather forecast . Still only day 3 so lots could happen.

Yeah all in all pretty evenly matched so far. Hussey almost ducked it first ball too ha ha. Clarke's innings was bloody awful - another like that and he should make way for someone else. The lunchbreak Australia's worst enemy every time.

Acurate local weather site for you guys - http://www.weatherzone.com.au/qld/brisbane/brisbane
We're in the La Nina period where we get 10 years worth of rain in one year and then sweet bugger all for the next 5 so you can expect rain right through the series...

...Switched on this morning Hussey and Haddin still in..WTF 171 (at time of posting)runs in front and England face a uphill task if they just want to save this 1st test by the looks of it.So to quote a old Carol King song "It might as well rain till September"not a well pleased Bunny just now..hoping for a Man U win this afternoon to at least have me in a better mood ...

Hussey and Haddin batted very well today. Would have liked an England wicket before close of play but all in all think we're in the box seat. Wicket not doing much as the days go on so no easy times for the Aussie bowlers tomorrow. Cmon Siddle lol...

Thanks for that deadly , may need to pray for rain at this rate, typical english cricket fan.
Saying that would rather see full test match and the best team winning. Its a marathon not a sprint as they say.

Must admit I was both relieved and surprised tunning this morning to see the score and that we had only lost Strauss and that for 110 looks as though it will be a draw

Good result, I think this sets England up for the series now! They have proved their ability to settle in and fight it out. Good to see some Aussie dropped catches!
