Imagine if he has ability? Might be good enough, with that pace to play down the leagues. Can't rememer which sprinter it was that tried rugby league a couple years ago and struggled despite his speed. Campbell no?

Dwain Chambers it was, at Castleford I think ... probably failed because the drug tests were even harder
As you're older than me you'll remember when Wilt Chamberlain fancied his chances with Muhammed Ali? Chamberlain had to be 7 foot tall and weighed 20 stone at least. A press conference with Ali terrified him though and sent him back to the basketball courts with tail between legs
The england rugby coach Clive Woodward was so pleased with himself after England won the world cup, he made serious attempts to manage a professional football team. He failed of course, to get a job, but he must have had some ego.
If you've not read David Remnick's "King of the world", go and get a copy, it's a marvellous read about Ali's early life to the time when he fought Liston
.
Inspiring stuff.I boxed until I was 24. Amateur only, didn't do too bad, got to travel quite a bit. I was a big Tommy Hearns and Later cesar chavez fan. Don't watch much now though.

will take a look at that later. Bumped into Kirkland Laing when I was in Nottingham a couple of months ago. He was cool and enjoyed being recognised. You may remember he famously won a split decision against Roberto Duran in 82. Should have accomplished a lot more.
Jeff Fenech went from boxing to rugby league and got smashed and went back to boxing. Anthony Mundine did the opposite and went from rugby league to boxing. He has pedigree though as his old man was a world champ. John Hopoate got kicked out of rugby league to boxing - better known here as the lord of the rings - FSi Embedded Video - Visit Source
Michael Jordan was another. Played professional baseball for a couple of seasons, before returning to the Bulls. Not sure he was up to much, but someone that special at their original sport is almost always onto a loser. Legend has it that he was a good enough golfer to play on the PGA tour, but don't know how much truth is in that!!

Lendl tried the golf too, got to scratch and has played in some tournaments mainly pro ams i think. It was alleged in the early 90's Phil Neville was a gifted all round cricketer, who could have played county
Did'nt David James go to some NFL team .To learn how to catch. Think that was a waste of time aswell. But think he was better at American Foozball than he was at his own sport

Good call stuben, that reminds me, Ronan o gara went to try out as kicker for the miami dolphins. As far as I know (can't be certain) but he was offered a contract. But to be fair it's not as dramatic as jordan playing baseball or athletes playing footie or rugby
hard to see where Bolt could fully utilise his speed on the field to be honest. He has to dribble the ball and run at the same time which essentially halves your speed. Don't forget he's 6 foot 5 1/2 and over 100kgs - he's a big guy.
